First Date

November 3rd: Rented a U-Haul motorcycle trailer for $14 and made the 50-mile trek to meet George. George had the title, a pair of side panels, radio antenna, and a BMW shop manual. The transaction was straight forward.
We removed the Motronic control unit and ABS control unit to access the battery; and used jumper cables to provide DC power. The engine started right up despite 3-year old fuel in the aluminium tank. The front flat tire was inflated. Other than a quick inspection for fluid and exhaust leaks, and a checking the brake pads for wear; no other inspections were performed.

George tells me that the alternator was upgraded to the 700W model, and the headlight lamp has a H4 Xenon bulb.

Called 'Flo' at Progressive Insurance to make sure the bike was covered. We loaded the bike up, and upon reaching the final destination, gave the bike a wash ; and applied the appropriate preventive maintenance chemicals and lubricants on the plastic, steel, aluminum, and rubber parts.
